The CLSU Information Systems Institute was conceptualized in 1994 and was approved by the Board of Regents in April 1997. The ISI was created for the purpose of initiating a university-wide computerization program for CLSU. The institute is mandated to draw the plan, recommend and execute a university-wide computerization for CLSU.

The main task of the institute is to take care of the information management and computing needs of the university, on top of its responsibility to offer training courses for the university staff, faculty and students. It will also responsible for coordinating /managing all computer laboratories in the academic program.

With an initial grant from CHED of almost 3 Million Pesos and an additional 2 Million Pesos from Don Emilio Yap, and a P1.0 M iniative from the Office of Hon. Sen. Tessie Aquino Oreta. The ISI is now on its 7th year of offering the BSIT Program.
